Chile–Czech Republic: President Pavel Promotes Strategic Dialogue in Santiago

During his official visit to Chile, the President of the Czech Republic, Petr Pavel, participated in a working lunch organized by the Chilean Council for International Relations (CCRI) and AthenaLab, which brought together authorities and experts to address the main challenges of the international landscape and opportunities for cooperation between Europe and Latin America.

The discussion addressed the political, economic, and social context of Chile at the beginning of a new administration, its strategic priorities, and the projection of its foreign policy in a fragmented global environment and a region with institutional weaknesses. The Czech delegation contributed insights on the European Union, the fourth year of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, and security tensions between the United States and Europe, enriching the analysis of current strategic challenges and the role of both countries in a transforming international scenario.

The meeting, held at AthenaLab’s offices in Santiago, included an open dialogue space and exchange of views on the global context. Additionally, a brief interview with President Pavel was conducted, focusing on the strategic interests that underpin the relationship between the Czech Republic, Chile, and Latin America, as well as the priority areas for deepening future cooperation.

The event was attended by representatives from the CCRI and AthenaLab, along with members of the official Czech delegation, establishing itself as a high-level dialogue space aimed at strengthening ties, sharing assessments, and projecting a common agenda between Central Europe and Latin America.
