Chile and the Trade War

Dear Director,

Authorities, business leaders, opinion leaders… everyone is calling for an end to the trade war between China and the United States due to its effects on global trade and particularly on Chile. However, the big question is what we mean to China and the United States in terms of foreign trade. It is clear that they are important to us, but the harsh truth is that in both cases we represent no more than 1% of the respective exchanges each has with the rest of the world. This leads me to conclude that the requests being made in Chile are not something that concerns them very much.
