Droughts and Fires

La Tercera, Wednesday, August 28, 2019

It may seem obvious, but if it does not rain in reasonable amounts, the drought will be severe and the wildfires will be intense and prolonged. It is time to start preparing and ensuring the availability of resources that this season will require. We have learned a lot in the last few summers, and hopefully we will apply all the lessons learned, which include a proper and fluid relationship between political power and the Armed Forces, police, and Conaf.

This summer, there is no room for failures in planning, lack of coordination, mistakes, and inefficiencies, as if there are, we, the Chileans, will become the laughingstock of the region.
