As part of its institutional visit to China, conducted from October 22 to 30, 2026, a delegation from AthenaLab held meetings with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, the China Institute of Contemporary International Relations (CICIR), and the Shanghai Institutes for International Studies (SIIS).

Among the participants was Sun Yanfeng, Director of the Latin America Studies Institute at CICIR.

Subsequently, the delegation participated in a roundtable with the General Directorate for Latin America of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, led by its Deputy Director General, Chen Xiaolin.
